Greed in the Marina
The Grove on Chestnut closed abruptly last month. An untenable jump in rent to nearly a quarter million dollars a year was widely reported.
Lately, someone has been sticking little yellow notes of protest to poles on the sidewalk. The notes are refreshed daily.
Messages are chalked on the sidewalk as well.
I think we're being invited to send emails to the landlord.
Sidewalk messages are also appearing in front of other empty storefronts on Chestnut, ...
... including the former location of Rabat, which is rumored to be where the neighborhood's temporarily closed Peet's will relocate.
