Rettet Seraglio!

I just heard a KQED radio announcer tell us about SF Opera's production of "The Abduction of Seraglio".

Seraglio obviously needs saving!

Indeed! & KQED inadvertently invented a Mozart opera that I think I would like to hear! This also reminds me that Donald Pippin did a wonderfully goofy English translation of "Abduction" called "Yanked from the Harem".

Leave the whores behind, we just want the pretty building with all the nice wooden screens. Maybe it's the story of the revenge of an Orientalist-obsessed interior decorator?

Those Turkish houses are quaint, aren't they? What an outrageous idea, Mr. Plumley. Perhaps we can re-purpose "Marten alle Arten" into the designer's melodramatic plea for martyrdom.
