As is usually the case, clouds rolled in tonight, giving us less than ideal viewing conditions for the fireworks along the wharf. Some years the event is little more than a fuzzily colored sky. Fortunately this year the clouds weren't low enough to totally obscure the show, & it was the spectacle it should be. The crowd around Fort Mason did not seem as thick as usual, so I was able to get close to the pier from which the rockets are shot off. The view was great, the fireworks seeming to fall straight down toward us.

That's impressive decorating on the pie. I assume it's homemade?
I was only able to make an unremarkably-looking strawberry-rhubarb crisp for the July 4th party, which requires much less skill than a blueberry pie.
The blueberry pie was most certainly homemade! Your strawberry-rhubarb crisp sounds wonderful. My culinary skills on the 4th of July did not extend beyond tossing a spinach salad.
