& this just a month after their fiasco with will-call tickets at Philip Glass's show.

Hello,
I'm the Director of Marketing for San Francisco Performances. The Evgeny Kissin recital was postponed by a day because the artist was ill. We spoke with his management and Mr. Kissin felt he would be able to perform on Thursday (he felt that would give him sufficient time to recover). Had we not been able to reschedule the recital for Thursday, Mr. Kissin would not have been able to perform in the Bay Area for several years, given his schedule.

Thank you,
Dafna Kapshud

Thank you for the additional information. I would hate for Mr. Kissin's recital to be canceled entirely, so I am perfectly content with the mere 1 day postponement.

It's kind of funny, my experience with SF Performances has been rather excellent, especially compared to the SF Symphony. It always seems to me that they have their stuff together.

Then again, I wasn't there for the will call disaster.
